SID has been developed as part of a wider Young People’s Substance Misuse Carepathway Implementation Project and along with the SID Tool Kit, aims to support children and young people’s workers to: 

  • identify young people’s drug and/or alcohol related needs;
  • provide initial information and advice;
  • when appropriate refer to specialist young people’s substance misuse agencies for further advice, counselling and/or treatment.
