Resources
Looking for reliable information about drugs and alcohol on the internet can be a daunting task; there's so much out there that it can be difficult to know what's useful and what's not. Norfolk DAAT and N-DAP agencies work hard to produce and maintain resources which provide accurate and up to date information about drugs and alcohol, the law, and the help that is available.
In our resources section you can find N-DAP publications, research and useful links as well as details of the translation service INTRAN - you can even visit the N-DAP You-Tube channel!
NHS Norfolk Leaflet Service
The Leaflet Service holds a catalogue of information leaflets that are available to N-DAP members to order free of charge. This catalogue includes leaflets produced by N-DAP, HIT, the Home Office and the Department of Health, amongst others. You can access the NHS Health Information Leaflet catalogue through the HERON site, along with details about how to order copies.
HERON now has the facility to search for substance misuse information in other languages and a range of different formats for people who speak languages other than English, people with sensory impairments or learning needs. You can access this search facility here.
Videos and Films
Please help me... I'm addicted video (2010)
Please help me... I'm addicted was developed by Norfolk Children's Services and Community Music East and supported by the Norfolk Drug & Alcohol Action Team. Filmmakers from community Music East worked with service users over a period of six months to tell six true, and often moving stories about addiction. The film was made by a group of service users who felt very strongly that their stories and experience may benefit young people offered substances of any kind. Their interviews have been edited to create six individual short films that stand alone but also resonate together.
It came second in the category 'Films made by Service Users' in the Drink and Drugs Film Awards 2011
'Not that I Remember' DVD (2009), produced by Community Music East and winner of the Social Marketing East Award in 2009. You can download the Resource Pack accompanying the film here.
The RSA has launched new webpages dedicated to its recovery work. You might be interested to find out about our forthcoming work in West Kent in partnership with CRi and the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Included in this is a film co-produced with people in recovery (through our Whole Person Recovery project in west Sussex) that aims to raise awareness around the impact that GPs have on the recovery process.
