DAAT Conference

100 people attended the Substance Misuse, Mental Health & Domestic Violence Conference on 15th February organised by the DAAT on behalf of the Partnership. Herring House Opens it's Doors

A £3 million project to design and build a custom made homeless hostel in Great Yarmouth is nearly complete, when Herring House Trust opens the doors to their new hostel on 3rd February, giving hope and a new start to thirty one homeless men and women over the age of 18.

UK Recovery Federation

Following on from the UK Recovery Federation (UKRF) Recovery Seminar which took place in Norwich on the 16th of December; plans are underway to roll out five UKRF Recovery Seminars in different locations within Norfolk over the next six months. In order to maximise the participation of recovery community members (those in recovery, recovering and recovery 'allies') UKRF would like to talk to people who are interested in supporting recovery within communities and are particularly keen to map 'recovery assets' within Norfolk. If you'd like to support the Recovery Seminars (and/or would like more information) can you please get in touch so UKRF can arrange to meet with you to discuss the aims and objectives of the Seminars and begin the mapping process.The UKRF Recovery Seminar Briefing is attached and Alistair Sinclair of UKRF is more than happy to talk it through with you prior to meeting up.

Saving Money and Reducing Harm through Drug and Alcohol Treatment

The National Treatment Agency have developed a presentation that highlights the importance of drug treatment in reducing harm and saving public money. In Norfolk it is estimated that for every £1 spent on the local substance misuse system £4.54 is gained in total benefits. Further information on the benefits of drug and alcohol treatment in Norfolk is contained within the N-DAP 2012 Adult Substance Needs Assessment.
