Norfolk’s Future Adult Substance Misuse Services: Supporting Freedom from Drugs and Alcohol

Welcome to N-DAP’s section of the website which sets out how we plan to redesign drug and alcohol services for adults in Norfolk. This plan, Our Vision, focuses on supporting people to become free from their dependence on drugs and alcohol.

Our Vision is:

To have a drug and alcohol treatment system for adults in Norfolk, that increases the number of people able to recover from their dependence by providing individual support and treatment packages of care.

These will be enhanced by increasing opportunities for individuals to continue their recovery within the community and by providing further support to affected family and friends.

Our Vision has been informed by the responses and comments received during a 12 week public consultation held between 1st June and 24th August. The process of gaining views from the people of Norfolk incorporated a range of methodologies including an on-line survey, face to face meetings (including GPs, commissioners and providers), and a postal paper survey.

Thank you to everyone who shared their views during the consultation process and helped to shape Our Vision.

How we will do this

Together with our partners we aim to do this by:

• Joining up the current funding for drug and alcohol treatment system across Norfolk
• Redesigning and purchasing a treatment system which meets the identified needs of the local population
• Making sure the project effectively engages with key stakeholders, including N-DAP partners, service users and family members and friends.

When the new services will start

We aim to secure services which will deliver and meet Our Vision starting from October 2012.

Who we are

The Norfolk Drug and Alcohol Partnership (N-DAP) leads on the implementation of national drug
and alcohol strategies across Norfolk, and with its partner agencies, commissions and oversees
