Criminal Justice

The criminal justice element of the National Drugs Strategy encompasses Arrest Referral Schemes, Drug Treatment and Testing Orders (DTTOs), Drug Rehabilitation Requirements (DRRs) and Prisons. These responses help enable substance misusing offenders to access treatment and support services. This will help to reduce both the frequency and severity of their offending and so the impact of their offending upon themselves, their family and friends and the community at large.

Progress is being made countywide to look not only at the treatment side of these services but also at crime prevention.
