N-DAP Information Group
Thinking of developing a new resource and wish to make a bid for possible funding please read our Bidding Guidance and complete the application form.
Scope
- Encouraging the integration of communications across N-DAP
- Consultation with our customers to ensure we are developing the services that they need
- Regular updates at the Information Group from representatives of the different groups on what resource/information developments are occurring across the Partnership
- Respond to resource and information requirements from the Partnership, which may arise from the strategies they have produced. Ideally, encourage partners to come to the Information Group in advance of making such commitments to ensure the resource can be costed and planned for
- Communicate the above information in a range of ways including N-DAP newsletter and the media
- Promote effective internal communications with customers.
- Programme of Work
- Develop a programme of work for the year that is based on key national/local priorities
- Involve stakeholders in its development
- Communicate this programme of work to N-DAP members
- Link to bidding system.
- Bidding
- Continue to develop the bidding system to make as simple to complete as possible
- Ensure all partners know about the opportunities to bid
- Link bidding system to the annual programme of work
- Consider commissioning specific pieces of work.
- External Communications
- Develop a media plan for the Information Group that clarifies the processes that would be used to promote eg any new information and resources. This would most likely make use of communication departments at NHS Norfolk and Norfolk County Council.
- Advise on Distribution
- Work with the Health Information Leaflet Service initially to explore different opportunities for distribution
- Research what distribution options are available, including in-house, buying services
- Encourage the customer to consider distribution as a key element of any resource development.
- Maintain and promote website
- Regular input from Research and Information Officer to advise on how best to utilise site as an information and resource tool
- Promotion of the site to N-DAP members as a way of communicating information about their activities
- Using the site as a tool to help integrate communications across N-DAP.
- Highlighting Good Resources
- Using a range of communication methods, in particular newsletter and website, highlight new and effective resources
- Encourage N-DAP members to tell us about good and new resources, especially free ones.
- Financial Management
- Ensure effective financial management through -
- Regular updates at the Information Group – have as standing item
- Careful monitoring
- Developing a contingency plan for under spend before year-end.
- Education / Training
- Promoting top tips on developing effective resources through eg website, newsletter, training sessions etc
- Promote in particular the need to make resources readable using plain English
- Invite speakers to the Information Group to talk about their new resources, campaigns etc how they went about developing them etc as a way of generating ideas and motivating. Perhaps there could be an open session over lunchtime where this could happen, which then led into the Information Group meeting itself. Perhaps people who are successful in the bidding process could present their resource here.
- Inform about social marketing and how this approach can lead to developing a more effective resource, campaign etc.
The Leaflet Service, NHS Norfolk
The Leaflet Service hold a catalogue of information leaflets that are available to N-DAP members to order free of charge.
A catalogue of leaflets available is on the Heron website, as well as details of how to order copies of them.
HERON now has the facility to search for substance misuse information in other languages and a range of different formats e.g. video, audio etc.
