Prevention and Education
In partnership with the LEA a School Drugs Advisor is employed to advise teachers to:-
- Improve their own knowledge and understanding of drug issues.
- Develop drug education curriculum/ schemes of work/ lesson plans.
- Advise schools on the development of school drug and alcohol protocols in accordance with government key stage guidelines.

Two Way Talk is a resource which aims to support parents and carers to talk to their young children ( aged five to twelve) about drugs, life skills and sex and relationships. It contains stories, quizzes and activities, which can be set by teachers or other professionals as home based activities to support PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) Download a copy of Two Way Talk
The Matthew Project has been commissioned to provide school assemblies/workshops to 50 schools across the county.
In the Spring of 2004 the DfES issued guidance entitled "Drugs: Guidance for schools". This document included some brief guidance on the use of sniffer dogs and on the drug testing of pupils in schools.
